| Technique Classes: These classes are designed to teach the technique ONLY. No specific project will be made. At the end of the class students will be given several simple patterns suitable for the skills gained in the class |
| Basic Knitting - 2-2 hour Classes Covers casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch, and binding off. Fee: $30 includes 1 skein of yarn of worsted weight yarn and a set of size 8 bamboo needles. Basic Crochet - 2 hour Class Covers chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet, increasing and decreasing. Fee: $35 includes 1 skein of worsted weight yarn and 1 bamboo hook. Magic Loop Knitting - 1 Hour Class This technique is very useful for knitting socks, hats, sleeves, and baby clothing. Covers casting on and joining for knitting in the round, and how to avoid "ladders". Fee: $20 Other Supplies Needed: 1 skein yarn, 40" circular needle in a size appropriate for the yarn. THE SWEATER SAMPLER (Perfect for a beginning knitter!) Instructor: Linda Gillespie What is it?? It’s a sampling of everything you need to know to knit a variety of sweaters. Edgings, Ribbing, Adding new colors, Belts, Pockets, Fair Isle Knitting, Decorative Stitches, Cables, Lace Edges, Drawstrings and more! 6 – 2 hour classes. Fee: $10 per class, plus the cost of the book “The Sweater Workshop” regularly priced at $29.95. Yours for $17.97 if you attend the classes. |

Lace Bookmark - 1 hour class
Skills taught - Basic lace knitting
Pattern and Euroflax Sport Linen yarn provided at no extra cost.

Other supplies needed: 1 pair size 3 needles
Horseshoe Lace Shawl Knitting - 1-2 hour class and 2-1 hour classes.
Skills taught - Triangle lace shawl knitting, increasing, blocking lace.
Shawl pattern is included at no extra cost.
Fee: $30
Other supplies needed: Approximately 860 yds of light worsted or sport weight yarn
(worsted weight works fine, but results in a slightly larger shawl)
Circular needles in sizes US 7, 8, 9, 10, 10.5 & 11 (shawl is knitted flat, but needs 24"
or longer circular needles to hold the large number of stitches)
5 stitch markers, one of which should be different in appearance.
Toe-up Socks Using The Magic Loop Method - 1 hour initial class followed by a 2 hr class. Must
have taken the Magic Loop class, or have experience knitting in the round Magic Loop style.
Skills taught - "Magic" cast on, Strong method of knitting heels (no flap, no picking up stitches).
Fee: $35
Supplies needed: Sock yarn, 40" circular needle, Size 1 or 2 (depending on whether you knit tight or
loose).
Basic Top Down Socks with Heel Flap - 3 2-hour classes
Learn the traditional method of knitting socks with a special heel flap that makes picking up stitches a
breeze!
Supplies needed: You must have the top (leg part) of your sock knitted up before the class starts.
Fee: $35
Multi-Directional Knitting Scarf - 2 hour class. Great Christmas gift!
Skills taught - Multi-Directional knitting (changing directions without binding off and picking up
stitches)
Supplies needed: Approximately 200 yds of yarn to make a 4’ scarf, 300 yds to make a 6’ scarf
Knitting needles in the recommended needle size.

Crochet Towel Toppers - 2 hour class. Perfect teacher gift or last minute gift!
Skills taught - Crocheting a hanging top onto a kitchen towel.
Supplies needed: One kitchen towel, cut in half with raw edges hemmed. (cut across the middle, not
lengthwise) Size H crochet hook. Worsted weight machine washable and dryable yarn. Tapestry
needle.

Baby Surprise Jacket - Weekly one-hour classes
